November 20, 2009 -
Orange Beach, AL (OBA)- During the
Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival (FBISF), I had an
opportunity to become friends with a couple of the songwriters visiting
our area. I have always wanted to know what type of people wrote words
with music that sounded like I felt, so I asked Doug Gill and Lynn
Langham if I could interview them. After visiting with Doug and Lynn, I
understood the phrase "These people give with their hearts every day."

| October 26 2009 - Orange Beach, AL (OBA) - How do you spend your winter? Experiencing cooler weather, football games, hunting, busy schedules, staying inside, Orange Beach fishing… Wait a minute. You didn’t think that going to the beach and fishing just happened in the summer? For many, it does. But for me, the fall and winter is about all of the above and much more. I enjoy the
comfortable weather of fall and winter in Orange Beach and Gulf Shores, Alabama. Give me some Alabama Gulf Coast gumbo, shrimp and fish and I will give you a big smile. |

September 29, 2009 - Orange Beach, AL (OBA) -
Summer is
over and the crowds have cleared the beaches. Nobody told the fish.
Fall fishing in the northern Gulf of Mexico is just as good as summer
fishing, but the cooler temperatures making their way south and
the lack of the large summer crowds makes fall fishing very enjoyable.
And now, fall fishing is more affordable than ever. Zeke's Marina,
Brett-Robinson and three local restaurants have put
together a discount two-day fishing package that anglers will find
irresistible. |

Orange Beach, AL (OBA) - Multiple
close encounters with large Whale Sharks in the Gulf of Mexico have been
reported over the last couple of weeks. According to Gary Emerson of
Gary’s Gulf Divers, he has heard numerous reports of Whale Shark
sightings from Panama City to Destin to Orange Beach, all in the last
couple of weeks.
Four groups of divers and anglers from Orange Beach that we have
interviewed have experienced firsthand close encounters with these
curious creatures. Below you'll read the details of these four
encounters. |

Orcas and Beaked Whales and Great
Whites, oh my! |
| August 4, 2009 - Orange
Beach, AL (OBA) - This past year
has seen more than its fair share of amazing fish and marine mammal
stories coming out of Orange Beach. Last October 31st, Capt. Eddie Hall
and anglers on the Shady Lady spotted about 200 Killer Whales 90 miles
south of Orange Beach. On June 6th of this year, Lea Scruggs and his
friends fishing on the Wahooter had a close encounter with a beaked
whale about 35 miles south of Orange Beach. And now, Capt. Chip Day of
Chipper's Clipper and his fishing team spotted a Great White Shark about
40 miles southeast of Perdido Pass. |

While the picture doesn't do justice to the
encounter,
the verbal descriptions from the experienced anglers
pretty much confirm it was a Great White sighting. |

July 9, 2009 - Orange
Beach, AL (OBA) - It was another
beautiful day on the Alabama Gulf Coast. Local angler Lea Scruggs and
his friends Jessica Simpson, Melvin Lowdermilk and Shelby Wolven headed
out on Scruggs boat, the Wahooter, for a day of offshore fishing in the
Gulf of Mexico.
When the Wahooter Fishing Team started out that morning, they didn't
expect to have such an exciting tale to tell, especially not another
Whale Tale from the Gulf of Mexico story originating from Orange
Beach, Alabama.

with video capability on June 19th, the day they came available.
We immediately shot a short video at the Alabama Gulf Coast Balloon
Festival and published it as a news story. As far as we can determine
this was the first ever news story to use the video feature of the Apple
iPhone.

July 2, 2009 - Orange Beach, AL (OBA) - Are you bummed out that you can't make it to Orange Beach for the fireworks this 4th of July holiday? You can still be entertained by some of the goings on by watching the video clip below where videographer Steve Cochran terrorizes beach-goers with a blue crab at the surf's edge tied to fishing line. This is a really funny video.
In our search for videos this morning to add to our new

just had to share.

Orange Beach, AL -
The underwater video below was shot at the Alabama Point Jetties in
Perdido Pass by Beth Kelly, a dive instructor with
Down Under Dive Shop.
The video shows the abundant aquatic life that lives just below the
surface of the waters of the northern Gulf of Mexico. This video shows
a thriving world on the Alabama Gulf Coast that most people never see,
including anglers who fish the jetties.
