|Arts, crafts, food, classic cars highlight Orange Beach Seafood Festival|
February 12, 2014 — Orange Beach, AL (OBA) — With more than 50 arts and crafts vendors featuring local and regional artisans and an impressive Car Show including classic cars, hot rods and newer models, the 22nd Annual Seafood Festival promises to be a delight for young and old.
The 2014 event will be Feb. 22 at the Orange Beach Sportsplex, located on William Silvers Parkway, just off Canal Road.
The festival is the major fundraising event for the Orange Beach Sports Association and supports youth sports related activities in Orange Beach. Proceeds from the event are used to purchase uniforms, equipment, insurance and also pay officials for youth t-ball, baseball and softball programs.
Arts and crafts vendors will be selling an assortment of wares including jewelry, pottery, metal items, candles, textile arts, etc. Literally something for everyone. Musical entertainment includes Three Bean Soup, Smooth Horns and Top Hat & Jackie.
The car show has been growing each year and depending on weather typically attracts more than 100 vehicles for visitors to view. A KidsZone with activities, a silent auction, a military display and of course seafood booths, will round out the day’s activities at the Sportsplex.
In addition to parking at the Sportsplex, visitors are encouraged to park in the gravel parking lot at the entrance to The Wharf and ride the dedicated shuttles that will be operating during festival hours. Shuttles are free. For up-to-date information visit Orange Beach Parks and Rec online.
