|20th Flora-Bama Super Bowl Chili Cook-off to benefit American Cancer Society|
January 27, 2014- Orange Beach, AL (OBA) - The Flora-Bama Lounge & Package challenges you to strut your chili wizardry at the 20th Annual Super Chili Bowl Cook-Off.
Starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, teams will compete to see whose chili is the best in the land. While the competition starts at 10 a.m., the tasting begins at noon. Tickets will be sold, starting at 11:45 a.m., for $2 each or 6 tickets for $10, with proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society/Relay for Life. Each ticket is good for one cup of chili.
Teams of 3 can register for just $50. Teams get three souvenir T-shirts, plus free draft beer donated by Goldring Gulf Distributing, and other party favors. Rules and Regulations are; minimum two gallons of chili, team to supply all cooking utensils, pots, burners, and ingredients. Participants must be willing to eat their own chili, and be 21 years of age. Pre-cooked items will not be allowed; teams must start from scratch. No outside alcoholic beverages will be allowed.
Judging starts at 1:30 p.m. and teams will win bragging rights and serious prizes. Here’s the breakdown:
1st Place: Perpetual Trophy, $100 Cash Prize
People’s Choice: Perpetual Trophy, $99 Cash Prize
2nd Place: Ribbon, $75 Cash Prize
3rd Place: Ribbon, $50 Cash Prize
