|Oho Snowbirds have 108 at breakfast and six new members|
January 26, 2014 – Gulf Shores, AL (GSA) - The Ohio Snowbirds returned to LuLu’s Homeport Marina on Wednesday, Jan. 15, for its first breakfast of the 2014 season with 108 in attendance including six new people.
President Bob Hofacker led the Pledge of Allegiance followed with the blessing from Don Thrash. Phil Carlo wrote a song, “Dixieland, Sweet Dixieland” about Ohioans coming to the Gulf Coast and everyone sang it along with Phil and his wife Carol.
Vice-President Sue Ellen Carpenter spoke about upcoming programs for our meetings and some of the other events that will be going on.
Treasurer and Membership Chairperson Gayle Hofacker and Secretary Marge Vetter explained the duties of their positions since both are giving up those positions at the end of this season. Treasurer and Membership will be two different people. We are requesting volunteers who can shadow us for the rest of this year.
Bob Hofacker explained about the three local activities that involves all snowbird clubs, Pancake Breakfast, Brat Fest and Low Country Boil, and requested volunteers to sign up to help on each one.

Monday and Tuesday, eco tours-sign up sheet. 1 p.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 29, breakfast at LuLu’s, 8 a.m.
Friday, Jan. 31, Ladies Day brunch, Orange Beach First Baptist Church, 9-11:30 a.m/
Saturday Feb. 1, pancake breakfast at Erie Meyer Center, Gulf Shores, 8 a.m.
Wednesday Feb. 5, breakfast at LuLu’s, 8 a.m.
Thursday Feb. 6, Lifestyle Expo at the Caribe, 8 a.m.-2 p.m.
Friday Feb. 7, Corn Hole Party (rain date Feb. 10), noon
Wednesday Feb. 12, lunch at McGuire’s Irish Pub-Pensacola, 1 p .m.
Thursday Feb. 13, Pot Luck/Game Day-Caribe Bldg. C, 1 p.m.
Breakfast reservations are due Sunday before by calling Dick Haberstroh at 513-702-0639. All present and former Ohioans are welcome to attend.
