|Perdido Key Snowbird Roosts begin Jan. 9|
January 7, 2013 – Perdido Key, FL (PK) – Snowbirds can revel in beautiful beachfront views and low-cost activities while their friends back home battle snow and ice. Business and community leaders have arranged numerous events to entertain northern visitors, and they’re throwing in sweet incentives, too.
The temperatures on the Key average in the low 60s this time of year, much more pleasant than the frigid weather plaguing the Midwest and Northeast and even parts of the South.
More incentives can be found at www.perdidosnowbirds.com/savings, where a Snowbird Savings Card will mean big discounts on restaurant meals, golf, tours and other activities.
In addition, Snowbird Roosts let visitors mingle with other visitors and sample all that the area offers in the way of food, fun, entertainment and discounts.
Perdido Key will host three Snowbird Roosts this winter – Jan. 9, Feb. 13 and March 6.Doors open at 11 a.m. Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m.
People must buy their tickets in advance -- $4 – at the new Perdido Key Area Chamber of Commerce office at 15500 Perdido Key Drive. The Snowbird Roosts will be held at the Perdido Bay Community Center, 13660 Innerarity Point Road.
There’s plenty of other happenings to entertain Perdido Key visitors, including a “Fly-in” Jan. 21 at the National Naval Aviation Museum. Snowbirds can start the day with “Breakfast and a Movie” at 9 a.m. and enjoy discounts on tours and other items.
