|LuLu’s rings in family fun for the holidays|
December 10, 2013 - Gulf Shores, AL (GSA) - LuLu’s is known for a family-friendly atmosphere during the busy summer season, but the holidays bring two more reasons to experience the fun of LuLu’s — the arrival of Santa’s brother, Billy Claus, and a mid-day party for kids to ring in the New Year.
Billy Claus, the fictional character in Lucy Buffett’s holiday children’s book “Billy Claus and the LuLuBelles: The Story of Christmas Island,” arrives by seaplane on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. Santa’s brother is allergic to snow and prefers the warmth and white sand beaches of the Alabama Gulf Coast to the cold and snow of the North Pole.
The LuLuBelles are Billy’s own elves who bring holiday cheer to all and help Billy with the wish lists of all the kids he encounters. This eighth annual day of arts and crafts, live music and photos with Billy Claus will make children (and their adults) of all ages ready to celebrate the holiday season.
Children are encouraged to bring their Christmas Wish Lists to give to Billy for him to deliver to Santa. The festivities end with the Nautical Nights Boat Parade at dusk.
“Billy Claus and the LuLuBelles: The Story of Christmas Island” is now available in hardback ($13.99) or novelty paperback ($5.99) online or at the LuLu’s Gift Shop.
Families and children are also the focus on Dec. 31 at LuLu’s with the ninth annual Noon Year’s Eve, the best daytime bash near the beach! Starting at 10 a.m., a sandcastle building contest, live music by Caroline Kole, face painting, a petting zoo, and arts and crafts allow children to ring out the year in exciting style.
At noon, the Beach Ball drops and Noon Year’s Eve is celebrated with kid-friendly fireworks (using huge bubble wrap)! Noon Year’s Eve ends at 4 p.m.
Admission to both the arrival of Billy Claus and Noon Year’s Eve is free. For more information, visit www.lulubuffett.com or call 251-967-LULU (5858).

Creative chef, business woman, author and story teller, Lucy Buffett is more than a sibling of famous troubadour Jimmy, just as her business, LuLu’s, is more than a restaurant.
As creator of the LuLu’s brand, Lucy has taken her initial dream, LuLu’s at Homeport Marina, to become a destination in itself serving some 750,000 customers a year. From restaurants to clothing lines, cookbooks, Bloody Mary Mix, a children’s book and the newly-launched Crazy Sista Honey Ale beer, Lucy Buffett combines true Southern graciousness and authenticity with the nerve of a successful entrepreneur.
Known as Crazy Sista for good reason, Lucy marches to the beat of her own drum; she plays nice, but usually by rules she has bent, broken or reinvented. To learn more about Lucy Buffett, visit www.lucybuffett.com.
