|After School Arts Program kicks off again Tuesday in Orange Beach|
August 25, 2013, Orange Beach, AL (OBA) – The After School Arts Program (ASAP) starts its first fall 2013 term on Tuesday at the Coastal Arts Center of Orange Beach. ASAP meets every full school day from 3-5:30 p.m. and class time is 3-5 p.m. Students may enroll in ASAP for one or more days per week.
ASAP is a limited enrollment program designed to supplement your child’s education with the best arts education possible. Individual attention is a hallmark of ASAP as children are guided through a broad spectrum of artistic educational experiences.
Qualified instructors recognize and value the natural creative talents of each child, taking them beyond the increasingly limited capabilities of public education.
Term 1 begins Sept. 3 and ends Oct. 11. Classes designed for first through sixth grades are Monday studying public art and costs $70. Tuesday is paper-making and paper arts and costs $84 and on Friday there will be tie-dye & textile arts and costs $84.(Pictured is art student Garrett Ard of Orange Beach)
All three first through sixth grade classes will be taught by Belinda Butler, CACOB Children’s Programs Administrator. Students may enroll in ASAP for one or more days per week.
Wednesday’s ASAP class will be clay for fourth through sixth graders and will cost $84, taught by Abby Leach, CACOB resident ceramic artist.
ASAP Theatre Troupe, directed by Leeanne Stilley, will meet on Thursdays this year and costs $84 plus a one-time production fee. The ASAP Theatre Troupe plans to present “Aladdin Jr.” on March 20, 2014.
The play is designed for third through eighth grades. Younger children may be accepted at the director’s discretion. No auditions are required; just enroll.
K5 children may be accepted on a case-by-case basis for appropriate classes, and children younger than third grade may be accepted for Theatre Troupe on a case-by-case basis. Please check with the ASAP Administrator before registering younger children.
