|Mrs. Alabama & Living For A Dream Promo Photo Shoot|
August 18, 2013 - Orange Beach, AL (OBA) – Mrs. Alabama, Tara Hooper, along with Randy Witherington, founder of Living For A Dream, is inviting the media to attend their joint promotional photo shoot. This promotional photo shoot is being done in preparation for The National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is recognized in October each year.
They will shoot photos Aug.20 from 7:30-8 p.m. at The Wharf on the top deck of the west parking garage.
A resident of Fairhope in Baldwin County, Hooper serves as a “Look Good...Feel Better” facilitator as well as the Cancer Resource Center Volunteer Outreach and Management chair in Daphne. The “Look Good...Feel Better” program provides makeup and fashion advice for women who’ve been diagnosed with cancer. As volunteer outreach and management chair, Hooper recruits volunteers for the Cancer Resource Center and coordinates schedules. She also recruits facilitators for the “Look Good...Feel Better” program.
In memory of his wife, Witherington created a group called Living for a Dream to raise cancer awareness by contributing to the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life. He wants to help patients who are suffering from terminal cancer by providing dream vacations. The car has been painted pink, purple, and white to represent all types of cancer. They even detailed the inside of the car from the headliner to the floorboards. Now COPS has a whole new meaning: “Caring Officer Providing Support”. “We are getting back to the real meaning of policing, which is helping the community, not just putting people in jail,” said Witherington.
