June 14, 2010- The Presidential Motorcade came through Orange Beach today and made a stop at Tacky Jack's. President Obama met with Orange Beach Mayor Tony Kennon for an "Iced Tea Summit". Mayor Kennon first called for the "Iced Tea Summit" on June 7th on the CBS Early Show (see video clip below). Watch CBS News Videos Online Oil product continues to wash up on parts of Alabama Gulf Coast Beaches. Oil Spill Update from the Visitors BureauJune 13, 2010- Oil has entered Old River. The oil coming ashore today was not as bad as Saturday. The oil smell seems to be getting worse. June 12, 2010- Today more oil has washed up on to the beaches in Orange Beach and Gulf Shores and oil has entered Perdido Pass for a second time. Swimming in the Gulf in Gulf Shores is closed. Oil Spill Update from the Visitors BureauJune 11, 2010- Boating south of the Intracoastal Waterway is closed until further notice. Click here for more information about the waterway closures. June 11, 2010- Florida Point Access- The parking lot is closed to the public. It's being used as a staging area. You can still access the boardwalk and beach by walking around the parking lot on the north side. June 11. 2010- Thick oil has been reported south of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach.
