|Thank You Orange Beach|
Letters to the Editor
April 21, 2011 - Orange Beach, AL (OBA) - On behalf of the Shaver family, Mo, Jen, & the North Shore Grill Family we would like to express our most sincere thanks to Orange Beach. We wish to thank the community for overwhelmingly supporting Local’s Night last Thursday to benefit the Shaver family. The business community stood strong and donated some fabulous gifts for the auctions and raffles. Special thanks go out to the Orange Beach Fishing Association and Mrs. Iris Etheridge for their support and help, the Orange Beach Firefighters and the pink fire truck, Mayor Tony Kennon and Orange Beach City Council and Mr. Tim Wright for bringing OBA locals night back to North Shore Grill once again. It makes you proud to know that in the world we live in today there is such a special place as Alabama’s Gulf Coast.
We had over 500 people attend Local’s Night to show their support for one individual, I am sure some did not even know Mo Shaver but came just the same, it is nothing short of heartwarming to see such an outpouring of love and support for a son of the Island. Together we raised much needed financial support which will be greatly needed in the weeks and months to come as the Shaver family move through a very challenging phase in their life, please remember to keep them in your prayers and stay in touch with them along the way.
As we look back on the anniversary of the Blowout of the Deepwater Horizon we must reflect on how important our family, friends, neighbors and community have been to our recovery. The people of the Gulf Coast are no strangers to disaster or challenges and we are stronger because we stand as one together, there is no doubt that together we can survive anything and nowhere on earth is that more prevalent than along the Gulf Coast. Our mayors, chambers, and mental health workers have worked tirelessly on our behalf. As we move forward, let’s not forget that if we stay strong together we will survive.
Thank You Orange Beach and Thank You Gulf Coast, Joey Ward, North Shore Grill
