| Sleigh Ride in Orange Beach this Friday |
Submitted by Angela Bateman December 7, 2010 - Orange Beach, AL (OBA) - Join the City of Orange Beach for a festive new way to celebrate the Holidays! The Christmas Sleighride down the Hugh S Branyon BackCountry Trail offers holiday fun for the whole family. Riders will enjoy a comfortable ride on truck drawn open air trailers with benches (the “sleighs”) and enjoy the sights and sounds of the season. Pick up and drop off will be at Orange Beach City Hall. Along the trail, there will be over 10 different Christmas scenes, including carolers, a nativity scene and Santa’s workshop. Shipp’s Harbour Grill will be providing hot chocolate and cookies. Many other local churches and businesses will be participating as well. The Gulf Shores High School Band and Chorale are going to be on hand to entertain folks as they wait in line. “Since this is the first year of the event and everyone has had a tough summer and fall, the City has decided to offer this as a no cost event as a present to the citizens,” said Nicole Woerner, Planner for the City of Orange Beach and sleigh ride coordinator, “However, instead of admission, we are asking that everyone bring a nonperishable food item or cash donation for the Christian Service Center who will be on hand collecting items for their holiday food drive.” The Christmas Sleighride will be Friday, December 10, 2010 from 6-9pm. Pick up is at Orange Beach City Hall, 4099 Orange Beach Boulevard, Orange Beach, Alabama. For more information, please call City Hall, 251-981-6979 or Nicole Woerner, 251-981-1063, |
