DAPHNE, Alabama — Baldwin County residents bucked a state trend and voted down the proposed statewide amendment to Alabama’s constitution with nearly 60 percent of voters saying no to a change. Just over 18,000 residents cast ballots today in Baldwin County, election officials said. The Associated Press is reporting that the amendment passed statewide.
