Was Moody Shooting Justified? | WKRG

Wednesday, April 18th, 2012

Three teens have been charged as adults for a burglary on Gravine Island. A burglary that ended in the shooting of 17-year-old Summer Moody. But no charges have been filed against the shooters.

“Unless the shot the actual shooting was of Ms Moody was a criminal act, then we never get to the question of self defense,” said Baldwin County District Attorney Hallie Dixon.

Still a lot of questions remain about what lead up to the shooting and if it was in self defense.

“These are scattered pieces that we don't owe any money on and I'm willing to carry the financing for two to three years” said Mattei, a Mobile native and co-founder of Checkers restaurant chain, whose primary residence is in Palm Beach, Fla. “Maybe some small business owners will see it as an opportunity. Fort Morgan mystery ship remains a mystery | al.com

Wednesday, April 18th, 2012

Wreckage of a “Mystery Ship” has appeared and reappeared on the beach about 6 miles from Fort Morgan for some 40 years. No one is positive what it is or how long it's been there. Hurricanes Camille (1969) Fredrick (1979) and Ivan (2004) briefly uncovered portions of the ship but nothing like Hurricane Ike did in 2008. The wreckage was, again, uncovered by Tropical Storm Ida in 2009.
