I got a reliable report Wednesday that specks have really turned on in the Mobile River. The hot spots were the mouth of Chickasabogue and the mouth of the Spanish River.
Live shrimp fished 4 feet under a popping cork were resulting in cast-after-cast bites. Most of the fish caught Wednesday averaged 1½ pounds, but I also heard fish up to 4 pounds were caught earlier in the week.
