April 29, 2009 Update:
The Gulf State Park Pier is currently scheduled
for completion in June, depending on water conditions.
Strong winds this spring have churned up the Gulf of Mexico making
it difficult to get the equipment needed to complete the pier out on
the site. We hope to have updated information and pictures
available in mid-May.

May 19, 2008 - Gulf Shores/Orange Beach, AL - Below you will find photos of the
Gulf State Park Pier construction project as of May 19, 2008.
A special thanks to...
LCI Construction President & CEO, David LaGasse, and Project Superintendent, Greg Thacker.
They were kind enough to give us a tour and update us on the pier
project. These guys were proud and rightfully so, their
construction team is doing a
great job on the Gulf State Park Pier; as was verified by Pier#'r.
Public Notice: Boat Wake Problem One of the problems the construction team
has experienced is from curious boaters. Boaters traveling along
the Gulf of Mexico see the work underway at the pier and pull back on
the throttle. This causes large wakes to be thrown toward the barges supporting the
work cranes, which creates an unsafe environment for the workers.
Remember, as a boater, you are responsible for your wake! And if
your wake causes someone to be injured, or worse, you would be held
responsible. Practice safe boating!
Please avoid approaching this construction area where you could
throw your wake at the construction team.

mid-May 2009. |
