May 31, 2009 - Orange Beach, AL - (OBA) - The world renowned
New
Orleans Jazz Vipers will be performing under a big tent at TipSeas in
Orange Beach Sunday afternoon June 7th. Johnny Barbato & The
Lucky Doggs will open the afternoon's musical event at 12:00 pm
with The New Orleans Jazz Vipers taking the stage at 3:00. The New Orleans Jazz Vipers are a
seven-piece swing band that has been featured in everything from
television & internet commercials (click play button below to view a

Big Easy's Homecoming Celebration,

Back to New Orleans, Gently.
Both
stories are about the recovery of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.
From the band's website: "The band's repertoire includes well-known favorites and obscure treasures from the songbooks of Billie Holiday, Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, icky Wells, Benny Carter, and Count Basie, to name just a few."
"The Vipers new CD "Hope You're Comin' Back", won the 2006 Best of the
Beat Award for Best Traditional Jazz Album. The band has also won the 2005 Big Easy Award for Best Traditional Jazz Band as well as the 2004 "Best of the Beat" award for Best Traditional Jazz Album (for the album "Live on Frenchmen Street"). In 2001 and 2003 they won the "Best of the Beat" Award for Best Emerging Traditional Jazz Band. The band was voted one of the top three jazz bands in the 2004 Reader’s Poll in Where Y’at Magazine."
