February 24, 2007 - The 15th Annual Seafood Festival and Car Show was larger
than ever. This event is the main fund raiser for area children who participate
in organized sports. The event's success will benefit baseball, softball,
soccer, and other sports related activities.
We are awaiting information about the amount of money raised
by the Seafood Festival and Car Show for The Orange Beach Sports Association and
will publish it as soon as it is available.
Pictures on this page were taken toward the end of the day, and do not
accurately show the large numbers of participants who attended this year's
event. Next year we will do our best to arrive earlier.
While the 2006 Car Show had just under 40 cars, the 2007 Car Show included over
90 contestants. The success of the 2007 Car Show was due in large part to
the tireless efforts of the event organizers, Denny and Debbie Busbee.
Denny, Debbie, and their family members contributed a lot of their time, money
and energy toward making this event successful, and it obviously paid off.
Next year's event is expected to be even larger.
We want to thank this year's sponsors. Without their participation, this
fund-raiser for children's sports would not be possible.
(We are awaiting a better picture of the Sponsor Board, as the wind was blowing
some of the names in this picture.)

award. Dennis Randall (behind the car) is Billy's father. Together they
built out the trophy winning Camaro SS.
Honorable mention goes out to Leon, pictured here sitting in his self-built Hot Rod. Everyone in Orange Beach knows Leon, and he is the
main reason people blow their horns here in town.

We hear that the fish and shrimp plates sold out early.

We would like to extend a very special Thank You to all of the members of the Orange Beach Fire Department for the things they do to keep us all safe; and for the positive, professional attitudes exhibited by every one of its members. These attitudes are a direct reflection of the professional leadership of Chief, Forney Howard.
The citizens of, and the visitors to Orange Beach are fortunate to have these fine people watching out for us!
